Where did May go?

I seriously don't know what happened to the month of May and how it went so quickly. But, I'm determined to have a fabulous summer with my kids! June keeps us pretty busy with football, basketball and cheer camps for the older kids almost every day but I need something to do with my younger kids so I went on a search. Here is a brief list of things local to me in the QC/San Tan Valley area that are free or cost very little. Are you ready to join me for some fun this summer?!?!

Queen Creek Library (Ellsworth/Ocotillo in QC)
Free Every Thursday from 1-2 there are things like magic shows, yo yo demos and more. There are other events as well for older kids as well as babies, check out their calendar Here.

Apache Junction Library (Idaho/University (Superstition Blvd))
They have a darling castle for the little kids to climb in, play dress up and checkers along with maybe even do a little reading, ha ha. Miss Alana comes to story time on Mondays from 10-11am. Check out their calendar of events Here.

San Tan Regional Park (south of QC) and Usery Mountain Park (northeast Mesa)
I know the daytime is too hot to hike during the summer but they have awesome classes, star gazing, night hikes and more! Cost is $6 per vehicle to get into the park. Check out their websites Here for San Tan and Here for Usery. 

Dickinson’s Theaters at Signal Butte and Baseline
FREE movies all summer long. Tues-Thurs at 10am and 12:30pm Check the listing of movies Here:

Free Lunch and Free Breakfast
Absolutely FREE for kids! Combs District at Harmon Elementary. Check out their flyer Here.

Skyline Aquatic Center - Crismon/Southern in Mesa
This is a great place to take your family. They have season passes as well as punch cards or you can pay each time you go. Check their calendar for details. They also offer lessons and team swimming and synchro. It is a fabulous place. Click Here for more info.

Apache Junction Pool
Right next to the skate park, you can blade and scooter for free till you are too hot and then jump in the pool. Click Here for more info.

Has it been a year already? What a year it's been. Because of the normal/abnormal craziness, I asked each of the families/individuals to write their own blurb this year (and added some of our thoughts too).  Vance Throughout 2023, the family joyously settled into their newly purchased 1927 home in Springville, Utah, benefitting from the previous owners' renovations. Despite encountering minor setbacks like water damage early on, they relished becoming part of the community. Vance, working as a sales operations manager, dedicated his year to conquering trail races, winning a 25k and securing third place in a marathon before celebrating his 31st birthday by running 31 miles. Saying Goodbye to my Little Boy

Vance age 4 I remember sending off my oldest to kindergarten and knowing that his world was about to be bigger than the four walls surrounding our home.  It was with a terrific amount of strength and faith that I sent him out in to the world, so to speak.  I knew that from here on out, my opinion wouldn’t always be the one he counted on, that the world was about to have its part in helping me raise my boy.   I have wondered and worried every new year as I sent him off on a new phase, if I taught him enough to be able to weather the storms of life with a sound knowledge of why he is here on this earth and what he needs to do to be successful in his journeys.  Every single one of my kids gets the same worries as they start a new school year or in his case, a new phase in his life. Merry Christmas 2022

I love Christmas letters! I feel old fashioned but I love writing them and I love reading them. I love recapping the year and remembering the highlights. I've thought a lot about how to do this but for me, I like doing it by each child so here it goes: Vance and Katelynn live in American Fork and work at Vivint in Provo. Vance had a busy year of outdoor running. Katelynn spent the better part of the year growing a baby. She worked three days a week so she could spend two days a week at home with Olivia. Not only did Olivia turn three in November, but she became a big sister to Parker Lynn who was born on the 23rd. We love this sweet addition and can't wait to meet her in person.  Marly and Hayden spent the year finishing up Hayden's optometry schooling and rotations in Oregon and then Lake Havasu and are currently in Utah before heading to Idaho.
